Part memoir, part cultural artifact, Redressing the Sixties is Susan E. King's witty, whimsical recollection of the influences on her life related to clothing and fashion. The book contains 14 original prose pieces by King, along with texts she selected to provide commentary. Fabric samples from the artist's collection of vintage clothing adorn many pages. Sewn in signatures in a non-adhesive binding with visible sewing structure. Covers are paste paper over boards. Original writing, design, and letterpress printed from metal type by Susan King at Paradise Press. Colophon: "This edition of 125 copies, plus artist's proofs, was created for and supported by the Library Fellows of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C. Fabric swatches are pieces of clothing from the collection of the artist. The paper was made by David Carruthers and Company at St. Armand Papeterie in Montreal. The type is Palatino ...
