The William L. Megathlin Collection of the Old Chatham County Jail consists of research materials regarding the Old Chatham County Jail in Savannah, Georgia, gathered by William Megathlin between 1973 and 1979. Built in 1887, the Old Chatham County replace an earlier structure. Included are news clippings, jail keeper’s records from 1897-1898, and other documents related to the building and its uses. Also included is an National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) application and correspondence for the adaptive reuse of the building. The Jail now serves as a building associated with the Savannah College of Art and Design and has been renamed Habersham Hall.
