Title:
Where Angels Have Hitherto Feared to Tread
Creator:
Smith, Calvert H.
Description:
One third page cartoon set in front of the Life building. Note the Life cherub above the doorway. Suffrage was definitely a topic that Life Magazine addressed, though not always in a Pro-Suffrage way. The cartoons in this issue, while perhaps in favor of women voting, don't necessarily support suffrage for all. Most issues of Life had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue. This issue was titled the "Pro-Suffrage Number."
