Full page cartoon. Starting in around 1885, science was able to identify many diseases that were caused by poor nutrition. Quite a bit of testing of various nutrients was done both on animal and human populations. Life magazine covers were on a variety of topics. Each issue had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue. This issue has a theme of Summer joys.
