Travel to Europe around this time for the those who could afford it did not seem as attractive after the sinking of the Titanic on April 14, 1912 and the political unrest abroad. Life magazine covers were on a variety of topics. Each issue had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue.
