Life sometimes tapped into the growing popularity of the socialist movement, and around this time, "The Thinker" was being interpreted as a working class hero representing Democracy. Life magazine covers were on a variety of topics. Each issue had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue. The theme of this issue was Indian Summer.
