In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, ideas of spirituality and the existence of an astral plane resurfaced in popular movements such as Theosophy and neo-Rosicrucianism. Most issues of Life had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue. This issue is titled the "Easter Number."
