Abstract:
“This thesis examines the obstacles hampering the packaging industry’s transition towards sustainable practices. The research explores how FMCG companies in the food and beverage sector can effectively navigate the complex landscape to implement more environmentally responsible packaging solutions. Through expert interviews, case studies, and analysis of industry trends, the study identifies key challenges and opportunities in adopting sustainable packaging practices. The proposed concept aims to address these challenges by combining design thinking, systems thinking and sustainability principles and facilitate cross-functional collaboration, regulatory compliance, and innovation in sustainable packaging. The research contributes to the field of design management by demonstrating how holistic, user-centered approaches can drive systemic change in packaging sustainability while creating business value.” --Abstract
