Abstract:
"This thesis explores the intersection of cultural ownership, unity, and personal growth through the medium of mixed-media animation. Titled 'JALAJ,' the project juxtaposes the lives of a monk and a rapper, intertwining their journeys in a fusion of Indian classical music and hip-hop. Through contrasting settings and musical genres, it challenges preconceived notions of cultural boundaries and promotes a message of unity and enlightenment. By delving into the commercialization of sacred spaces and the fusion of diverse musical styles, 'JALAJ' aims to provoke thought and inspire dialogue on cultural exchange and personal transformation." --Abstract
