Abstract:
“This thesis paper uses a famous painting as a case study to examine the modern nature of information in a postmodern hyper culture society. The speed and force in which information, correct or not, travels is causing meaning to lose meaning. Thus we have become disenfranchised with the truth. The paper other modern examples such as Moazart's Lacrimosa in movies, Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA's use as a campaign song, Russia's interference in the 2016 election, the role of social media in the Arab Spring, and the use of memes during the threat of World War 3.” –Abstract
