Abstract:
“This thesis examines and analyzes the justifications behind California’s ban on domesticated ferrets. Additionally, this thesis studies ferrets as a species, including their biology and characteristics. It delves into their potential role in an ecosystem’s food chain and evaluates the risk of invasiveness. The thesis aims to confront the notion that ferrets pose an invasive threat to California’s ecosystems. Consequently, the thesis advocates for the reclassification of ferrets, challenging their categorization as wild animals, and argues for the legalization of their ownership as pets in the state of California.” –Abstract
