Abstract:
“As an essential component of body language, shoulder movements are crucial for conveying the emotional states of characters. To effectively express the character's current emotional state, a variety of appropriate shoulder movements are critical. Conversely, inefficient shoulder movements can have the opposite effect, detracting from the character's intended expression. Since not all shoulder movement designs are precise and efficient, their effectiveness in conveying the intended message is paramount and needs to be thoroughly studied. This thesis will explore the impact of shoulder movements by analyzing their principles, design, and implementation and evaluate the effectiveness of conveying the character's traits and emotions. A film is developed to intentionally demonstrate the importance of different shoulder movements in expressing the characters’ emotions.” –Abstract
