Abstract:
"What happens after people die is one of humanity's biggest questions. Nearly every religion has its take on an afterlife, and tales of people's journeys to the underworld or the heavens have existed for millennia. The body dies while the consciousness may remain in a shared imagination. Film often returns to the theme of dying, death, and the afterlife, both directly and indirectly, because there are very few subjects as compelling and universal. This thesis paper aims to examine and analyze different afterlife films, focusing specifically on the presentation of spaces, visual language, and mechanisms, in conjunction with the construction of the afterlife in my thesis film, "B-World". --Abstract
