Abstract:
“This thesis proposes solving longevity and relevancy issues facing studio-style theme parks with Magic City, a themed land based on the golden age of stage magic in the 1920s. This project explores how stories in this setting can provide similar guest experiences as studio parks, while avoiding some of their shortcomings. The design for Magic City includes effective master planning for a land set in an urban environment, incorporation of historical figures and influences, and interactions between guests and the story of the land. These elements all come together to create the unforgettable and immersive experience that is Magic City.” –Abstract
