Abstract:
“This thesis evaluates how 3D Character Animation benefits from Method Acting techniques developed by Mikhail Chekhov and Constantin Stanislavski as well as the 12 principles of animation developed in the early 1930s. It will focus on the function of these theories in a 3D animation workflow to show that Method Acting is an essential pipeline component that amplifies the efficacy of the 12 principles in order to successfully express a character’s emotional arc through an animated short film narrative.” --Abstract
