Abstract:
“This thesis focuses on Asian dramas as a primary source of inspiration to construct the story, character designs and corresponding objects used for animation. By combing modern character design techniques and traditional Asian aesthetics, this thesis claims the progress of creating a traditional Asian tragedy in a Palace with characters symbolizing distinct emotions of an absent protagonist Hanako. All the characters are transformed from the key objects within her living room when she was alive, which can tell her tragic life in different phases.” –Abstract
