Abstract:
“This thesis will explore a design for a theme park land based on a Chinese animation movie named 'Ne Zha' in an existing theme park. For the entertainment industry, China represents a huge potential market. However, Chinese theme parks lack themed narration and local culture identity. From analyzing the case study of 'Local culture in Beijing Universal studio' and 'Local culture in Puy du Fou,' combining local culture, storytelling, and animation IP to develop the themed entertainment experience is a good way to update any local theme park. Therefore, for this thesis, based on the narrative of the film, the whole land is divided into three themed areas: two main attractions, a show, and additional themed experience spaces. The visitor experience design is driven by storytelling to provide visitors with an immersive entertainment experience. With this story-driven theme park land, I hope to offer new possibilities for the development of China’s themed entertainment industry.” –Abstract
