Abstract:
"Animal characters can often be seen in animation films. Created by human artists and being able to talk and think, an animal character is different from real animals. An animal character is a mixture of human traits and animal traits. Animators can control these two traits by changing their dominance. For example, when human traits occupy a more important position, animal traits can take over to achieve the purpose of trading. This allows the animator to more easily manipulate an animation's rhythm and create a character's personality. Starting with discussing how to trade the two traits within animal characters, this thesis will also discuss why animal characters look appealing to humans, and how animal characters are used in animations. Last but not least, this book will also record my learning and experience during my development of an animation film, PeacefuLife." --Abstract
