Abstract:
This study is focused on highlighting the opportunities and aspects in interior design that can help alleviate procrastination and boost productivity during Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Spring 2020 was the beginning of online education and many concerns were prompted. Due to the prolonged campus closures, some students started to feel the lack of motivation and dedication which leads to procrastination. Qualitative and quantitative research methods of surveys, focus group, and observation were conducted in efforts to understand participants’ learning styles, learning habits, and determine which opportunities and aspects can be beneficial to alleviate procrastination and boost productivity. Findings show evidence that majority of participants were visual learners and they study
more than three hours daily. The presence of peers and sense of place of an academic building enhance focus and concentration while social media app is a distraction to learning.
