Abstract:
"Many Chinese teenage fans of pop idols tend to have obsessive idol worship and behave aggressively online. The study focuses on verifying the hypothesis that, through implementing the Identification-emulation Idolatry theory, an interactive system can be used to help teenage fans form positive idol worship. As a result, the design of priming labels in the interactive system has been proven to have a positive impact on the idol worship of participants. Using prototypes with idol achievement frame labels as a priming process can significantly increase the identification and attachment of young fans towards their idols, and reduce their consumption, idealization, and romanticization levels in idolatry, which shows that their idol worship was changed to be more positive and beneficial." -- Abstract
