Abstract:
"This thesis looks at how using 3D gaming environment design might re-frame perceptions of China among American youths to promote positive associations of the other. Through the research on environmental psychology and culture integration, this thesis discusses the psychological perspective of architecture within the gaming environment. How does environment art design affect human behavior and what is the relation between them? The thesis will primarily address the importance of such a relationship and highlight the processes of perception and behavior in the environment and gaming architecture design. Cyberpunk plays one of the most influential roles in modern American culture. The ancient theory Fengshui is a must to Chinese architecture and placement design. This thesis will prioritize the use of the Asian idea of Fengshui geomancy theory integrated with American cyberpunk theory to create a real-time visual environment in Unreal Engine 4 to promote the acceptance of the Chinese culture among American youths." --Abstract
