Abstract:
"The photo-sculptural body of work, Previous Acts of Remembering, opens a dialogue about the contemporary understanding of the phenomenon of memory. Because photography is inherently tied to the past, it is a particularly apt medium for addressing memory and perceptions of change, decay, and distortion over time. Photography has always been representative of memory; from its realistic nature to its ability to capture still moments, from its fragmented format to its ability to capture the real, and from its constantly changing structure to its ultimate deterioration."

Keywords: memory, identity, change, decay, passage of time, photography and memory
