Abstract:
"Representations of Hindu deities in video games have been rapidly increasing over the past decade. Even though these games have been hits because of their narrative, gameplay, or appearance, there have been issues raised concerning the depiction of the deities. Even though games try to represent these deities appropriately, there are always certain elements that go missing or get distorted during the creation of the deity. This thesis aims to prove that in video games, Hindu deities can accurately be represented through the implementations of the rules and methodology used in the Shilpa Shastra in the static and storytelling elements. Following this process would help gain information about various deities, leading to a better representation of the deity for video games." --Abstract
