Abstract:
"This thesis will explore three main forms of surreal comics: the reflection of subconscious, the application of paradox and the creative form of hunting for novelty. Using example of how important comic artists fit into the form, this thesis will discuss the reflection of subconscious in Joan Cornellà's comics, the application of paradox in Paul Kirchner's comics, and the creative form of hunting for novelty in both Shintaro Kago and Junji Ito's comics." --Abstract
