Abstract:
"The thesis will generally ask the following two questions, what is 'unconventional' color use and
how does it function in animation visual storytelling. In brief, the 'unconventional' color use is based on the subjective attribute of color, intentionally applying colors to enhance visual and emotional interactions with audiences. This is distinguished from the realistic coloring and lighting which is created for decoration. Color in animation creation can be imagined, abstracted and exaggerated according to personal preference. However, unusual color use does not mean the random combination of color. I will incorporate the research of color theory / color psychology and the study of specific examples of visual storytelling to analyze the principles of organizing colors to achieve various visual effects."
