Abstract:
"Air travel has become an essential method of transportation for numerous people. However, It can be a mentally and physically stressful experience for many passengers, especially for families. Concerns over safety, flight delays, and layovers challenge the wellbeing of these travelers and can overload mental stability. Additionally, long waiting time in airports put family passengers in an extra stressful situation because of the unsatisfying environment for their children. This thesis intends to explore the needs of different age groups of the family travelers utilizing psychological means to develop a space that enriches their experience and addresses these concerns. This thesis investigates methods of reducing travel-related stress through a series of restorative spaces by entertaining aspects of the natural world that have demonstrated proven benefits to the health and well-being of people."
