Abstract:
"This thesis paper will focus on analyzing cinematic emotional expression from the perspective of audio-visual language in contemporary narratives. By the examples from 'April Story,' 'Pairs,' 'Texas,' and 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,' the author will reveal how the use of visual, textual and musical components could affect subtle emotions
in different scenes. Finally, the author will assess the use of all the elements in his thesis film 'Ruby Days.'"
