Abstract:
"This thesis will demonstrate the influence mature content in animation has on mature
audiences and the way they perceive their personal development. When studying mainstream
animations that are targeted for more mature audiences, we can see characters struggle with
real world problems which can invite the audience to become immersed in the story and
bring upon moments of self-reflection in one’s behavior."
