Abstract:
"This thesis explores the relationship between animation and oral storytelling traditions
through three case studies. Each case study represents a different expression of the relationship between animation and oral traditions. Oral traditions find themselves represented in animation quite readily. Through the exploration of these relationships and their outcomes, a spectrum is proposed by which works that feature both traditions can be categorized and analyzed to form a
better understanding of both mediums’ representation."
