Abstract:
The visual discourse of character animation can enhance advertising more than the visual language of live-action film alone. Such enhancements can be achieved with universal
appeal, acceptability in subversion, and visually representing hard to understand information. Examples of these concepts will be explored in various animated commercials. Benefits of
live-action will be compared to character-animated advertisements. A final understanding of these explorations will be produced in the visual component of the thesis.
