Abstract:
"Street art has the ability to provide hope for a city, beautify overlooked areas,
enhance social or political awareness, generate pride and create gathering spaces. Our
public spaces are a reflection of the communities that reside within them. But what if these
spaces could be elevated visually through street art and also affect the public’s health?
Inspired by the Blue Mind theory, research of Wallace J. Nichols, this thesis will explore
street art and its potential and propose illustrative murals, designed for Savannah, GA, to
bring calm and strengthen community of this historic costal city."
