Abstract:
"This thesis presents the addition of a new country, India, to the World Showcase at
EPCOT. It also aims to cover varied architectural styles found within India and uses
several inspirations for designing this pavilion, to ensure that the guest’s experience of
traveling in India is as authentic as possible. The history and culture of India, and the
contributions that it has made to the world, are discussed. Of India, Pandit Nehru
lovingly wrote: 'India is a geographical and economic entity, a cultural unity amidst
diversity, a bundle of contradictions held together by strong but invisible threads. She
is a myth and an idea, a dream and a vision, and yet very real and present and
pervasive.' (Makin)"
