Abstract:
"This thesis will explore the use of lyrical music in present day live action film while briefly examining its historical context during the Silent Era. This body of work will also focus on the aesthetics of writing songs inspired by film vs songs written for a separate project with licensing in mind. The writer will also document the process and methodology of composing lyrical music for two separate live action student films. Finally, this document will provide basic insight into music licensing and workflow tips for songwriters and artists who may be interested in writing music for live action film."
