Abstract:
"New technologies in vocal processing have paved the way for the sound designer to radically recreate and manipulate the whole character of a vocal sound. This thesis examines the use of those technologies in the development of processing methods for vocal transformation. By manipulating the frequency spectrum of recorded vocal sound, specific characteristics of the human voice can be changed quite radically, allowing the sound designer to balance between natural and synthetic qualities when creating the appropriate vocal sound for a film or video game character."
