Abstract:
"Inspired by the realism of modern day sample libraries, this thesis documents the creation of a drum kit sample library from planning, recording and editing to the eventual use of the drum samples using a sample player. Emphasis was placed on maintaining realistic stereo imagery and sympathetic resonances while simultaneously offering users separation between drums, negating microphone bleed and reducing the likelihood of phase discrepancies."
