Abstract:
"The application of a structural technique should provide a mathematical impression that is detectable through measurement, detailing the existence of the process. This process should be visible in artistic compositions that were created using a geometric framework. This thesis will provide a brief overview of the structures used in a method of design called Dynamic Symmetry and will analyze one illustration from the Mira Calligraphiae Monumenta and three illustrations by Maria Sibylla Merian for their visual geometry."
