Abstract:
This thesis explores the use of the Design Discovery Application as a learning tool for
educational environments that desire to increase student motivation, engagement, and enhance
cooperative learning practices. The Design Discovery Application is designed to serve as the
central application that includes tools such as gamification, iBeacons, and cloud sharing
combined with a cooperative learning framework. The use of this application within a
learning environment is demonstrated through the Design Discovery Type Edition. This
application is a tool that can be used by educators to enhance the cooperative learning process,
and motivate learners through its technologically driven environment. It is adaptable to not only
a variety of content areas, but also a variety of educational settings.
