Color
is
an
important
visual
component
in
filmmaking,
which
is
able
to
greatly
enhance
the
expression
of
images.
More
importantly,
it
is
a
communication
tool
to
convey
information
from
filmmakers
and
influence
the
audiences’
moods.
Throughout
the
history
of
cinema,
the
aesthetics
and
applications
of
color
are
constantly
evolving.
Especially
in
this
digital
era,
the
using
of
color
becomes
more
various
and
popular,
and
therefore,
as
cinematographers,
they
have
responsibilities
to
review
and
improve
their
professions
on
color
manipulation
under
such
a
new
situation.
By
taking
a
quick
review
on
the
development
of
coloring
technology
throughout
the
history
of
cinema
and
introducing
principles
and
methods
of
color
control
in
cinematography,
this
paper
will
use
the
author’s
thesis
film,
Paradise,
as
example
to
demonstrate
and
explain
how
inspirations
and
color
treatment
were
used
in
this
film.
