This thesis focuses on the possible inclusive ways in which Slow Design could factor time as an
essential element in the design process, creating new relevance for deadlines in design practice in the
commercial sphere. The word “Slow” in “Slow Design” does not merely imply the simplistic need
for more time, but however, the complex need for relevant time that is necessary in order to engage
in the design process through to an empathetic outcome taking into account economic, commercial
and social sustainability along with long term effects.
