Abstract:
The findings from the research continually pointed towards the localized and limited success of previous improved cook stove programs and made it clear that traditional methods of problem solving cannot be used to achieve successful adoption of clean cooking methods in the under-served communities. The underlying themes from the findings demanded the need for a holistic and systemic approach towards successful and sustained adoption of improved cook stoves. In addition infusing a sense of ownership in the product and providing supporting services would lead to increased value and trust in the product, which then would propel sustained adoption.
