Abstract:
The where and what matter. This series of essays is an exploration of where and what I come from. My intention is for this collection to be as much about the where and what as they are about me. I’ve made attempts to write on these topics—tobacco, lobsters and substitute teaching, to name a few—without actually being in the stories, and the results were gauzy and removed. So, I’m in here.
