Abstract:
This thesis argues that sequential art can become a successfully implemented
component of established art therapy programs. The primary focus demonstrates that
the versatility and flexibility of sequential art as a medium make it a beneficial addition to
art therapy practices. The aim of the thesis is to draw parallels between established art
therapy practices and potential applications that utilize sequential art. Furthermore, the
thesis studies the ways in which comics have already been used indirectly as a source
of therapy as well as suggesting new, more clinical ways in which sequential art can be
utilized by licensed therapists.
