Abstract:
Parallels between talent and creativity, explore new ways of approaching the process of
creativity. Challenging the myths, talent and creativity, as intrinsic qualities, redefines how to
access them. Like talent, creativity is a skill built through precise, quality practice. Visualization
is a technique used by elite athletes to achieve skill and performance. This exercise reveals
relationships between perception, introspection, and creativity. Utilizing visualization as an
educational tool expands the creative thinking processes through self-actualization, empathy,
and storytelling. This methodology develops opportunities, which challenge perception and
introspection, fostering alternative ways of seeing. Value should not placed on knowledge, as
much as it should be on abstract thinking. As the value of creativity rises the importance of
fostering it also increases. As society continues to pursue new and complex problems, creativity
will become the key component for developing solutions.
