Abstract:
This thesis focused on how animation has been able to bend logic and reality all while remaining in the realm of acceptable. It will focus on the character aspect of animated features and what it is about them that can keep the audience attention from looking at certain details of the story. The aim of this thesis is to question why some elements of animation is believable, noting the difference between realistic and believable. Furthermore, the thesis will show how a graduate student may apply these ideas to their own work and create a believable yet non-realistic animation.
