Abstract:
This writer will explore the concept of indeterminacy put forth into the process of music
composition by John Cage. This thesis will compare and contrast an approach to indeterminacy
different from that of John Cage. The goal of this thesis is to delineate the established concept of
indeterminacy and explore new ways of listening and analyzing sonic indeterminacy in the world
today.
