Abstract:
This thesis explores the intersection of communication and technology; tangibility and
artificiality; reality and hyperreality. Probing the evolution of technology and language — the
past, present, and future is dissected. In the future, ancient phonetic, glyph-based communication
will be superseded by more efficient and powerful forms of hyperreal communication — consequently processes of graphic design and visual communication as they currently exist will
be rendered largely obsolete.
