Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the enhancement of social support and management of depression
for stroke survivors undergoing inpatient rehabilitation. The discussion outlines a seamless
integration of interactive technology into scalable interventions for the interior environment
that promote motivational, social, and therapeutic activities. The goal is to explore an
empathetic interior healthcare facility that promotes holistic and personalized experiences
for patient rehabilitation in efforts to decrease hospital readmission rates due to low
functionality, low social support and depression.
