Abstract:
The focus of this thesis is on the intrinsic optimism inherit in art-making, and in my work in
particular. I explore the influence of historical narrative on the development of the conceptual
aspect of my work and its impact on the stylistic qualities of what I make. I also address my
judicious quest for an attainable form of utopia through the creative process of art. The creation
of miniature worlds inspired by the traditions of puppetry is the result of this quixotic pursuit.
