Description:

Six leaves of board, each cut out to form a rectangular frame and covered with black cloth; each frame has a rectangular transparency (etching) inset and held in place with bookbinder's thread. Transparencies may be viewed from recto and verso. Back and front covers are gray cloth boards with smaller transparencies inset near black cloth spine. Colophon: "Conceived and assembled in the cold, using transparencies of etchings, UICB koza, Japanese book cloth, and 2-ply museum board. 40 books were made during the winter of 2001." Women's Studio Workshop website: "Suspended in framed window cuts, these subtle changing images on acetate convey the displaced passing of time that can accompany a series of sleepless nights."
