Title:
The Sacrifice to the Minotaur
Creator:
Walker, A. B. (Alanson Burton), 1878-1947
Description:
Half page cartoon. This cartoon is about the Bull Market, a period of time in the stock market when prices rise quickly. In 1905, the stock market had gone into a trend towards a Bear market, which it did not come out of until following World War I. The bears are bringing the lambs, or investors to the sacrifice. Life magazine issues had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue. This issue was the Inauguration Number, for Theodore Roosevelt's second term in office as President.
